Ed has opened up about the difficult time he went through when his wife, Cheri Seaborn, was diagnosed with a tumor during her sixth month of pregnancy. The singer, who was already coping with the death of several close friends, revealed he felt helpless when he heard the news. He said, “You can’t do anything about it. You feel so powerless.

According to the Rolling Stone cover story, Cherry was diagnosed with a tumor while six months pregnant with their daughter, Jupiter. The couple were initially told that the tumor was inoperable until after delivery, leading them to discuss the possibility of welcoming their baby girl sooner. Finally, she terminates the pregnancy and has a successful surgery after Brihaspati is born. Sheeran, who was performing at London’s Wembley Stadium, received the news of the “successful surgery” just hours after his daughter’s arrival.

In March of 2022, Ed made a candid confession, stating that he experienced feelings of not wanting to live anymore, saying, “And I’ve had this my whole life. … You’re drowning.” Beneath the waves. You’re just kind of in this thing. And you can’t get out of it.”

Ed’s breakthrough came in 2011 with the release of his debut album +. The album was a commercial and critical success, spawning hit singles such as The A Team and Lego House. He followed in 2014 with his second album, X, which included the chart-topping singles Sing and Thinking Out Loud.
