The recent report did not provide specific information about the incident that caused Kohli to violate the Code of Conduct. However, it is likely that his aggressive celebration after the dismissal of CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube was the reason.

Mohammed Siraj caught a full delivery from RCB’s left-arm pacer Wayne Parnell just inches from the long-on boundary during the 17th over of the CSK innings, after the ball hit Shivam Dube’s bat.Dube had been playing well until then, but he got the toe-end of his bat on this occasion.

It was a crucial wicket for RCB, as Dube was playing aggressively and posed a threat to take the game away from them with his big hitting. When Dube was dismissed, Kohli and other RCB players celebrated enthusiastically, with Kohli running towards Siraj and shouting.

Kohli had a tough time in his batting innings, getting out for just 6 runs in an unlucky manner as the ball hit the inside edge of his bat, then his pads, and finally trickled onto the stumps. This left youngster Aakash Singh ecstatic with the important wicket.

Although RCB lost two wickets early, their captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell made a strong comeback in the chase. The overseas players played aggressively, hitting the CSK bowlers all over the Chinnaswamy stadium, and quickly reached their individual fifties. However, once they were dismissed in quick succession, RCB’s middle-order lacked the necessary firepower to continue the chase. As a result, RCB fell eight runs short of the target.
